I have family in Cuba. Went in summer 2000. Returned to Cuba in Jan 2009 and finally made it to Trinidad, my grandmother's home town. My cousins in Trinidad rent out a room in their beautiful 200 year old colonial home. I visited Cuba in 2005.I went to a large hotel in Varadero,a tourist-based town with very little of the real Cuba.However, if you like the beach, it is fabulous here. I also visited Havana during my stay in Cuba.Away from Varadero,the poverty becomes evident & people beg even though by law they're not allowed to bother tourists.Havana is a city full of old Spanish architecture & buildings,many of which have fallen into disrepair. The Cuban people are some of the friendliest I have ever met.

Cuba was great! It was pretty much one big party when we were at the resort, but then when in Havana, it's very historical, and some more partying. I had heard before I had left that the food isn't good in Cuba, but at the resort I was at (Tryp Peninsula) the food was really good. The beaches are awesome in Varadero, and the people are pretty friendly. Over all a great time.

Trip to Cuba.

On the plane heading for Cuba. 2006 was a memorial year for me, my birthday was approaching, my best friend and I decided to visit Cuba, for it's rich history, culture, music, the beaches and hot climate. It was our first girlie holiday together to a long haul country, we loved it!!!

Went to Cuba for some sun and salsa. And rum.
