Awesome Whale Watching Trip Jun 01, 2011
Wonderful 4 hour boat trip accessible by a short 35 min. drive from downtown Vancouver. Shuttle is available for only 15.00 per person return if needed, which is a great deal!!

This boat ride is our 3rd whale watching adventure in Canada and U.S. and it was indeed the best one. The new covered boat is very comfortable. The glassed in walls and ceiling make viewing exceptional and the windows all open easily.

The Captain did a great job getting us as close to the whales as possible and the Naturalist on board was friendly and professional who knew both the area and the whales..Very informative.

Vancouver Whale Watch Sep 10, 2009
Going whale watching was one of the highlights of my time in North America. This company operates just south of Vancouver International Airport.

I chose to go on the Lightship 1 vessel, a rib inflatable boat (RIB) that seats 12 people. Other boats used by this company and by many others seat many more people. Being in a small boat meant that other people were never in the way. It is also close to the surface of the water, giving a much better view of the whales than being high up on a bigger vessel. The boat is also fast and highly manoeuvrable, so we could easily follow the whales.

The driver respected the whales at all times, never getting too close and not staying in one area for an excessive amount of time (there are laws governing this). He also took us past other areas of interest, such as where there were eagles, seals or past interesting islands.

The guide was very informative and the company as a whole were very professional, safety concious and friendly.
