Valley of Fire Vacation Guide

Valley of Fire is a State Park located about 50 miles north east of Las Vegas. It was founded in 1935 and therefore is Nevada's oldest State Park. Valley of Fire features archaic red sandstone formations (thus the name), which formed millions of years ago from sand dunes.
Prehistoric inhabitants, the Anasazi indians, painted some petroglyphs on the rocks, which are still visible.
Some scenes of Star Trek Generations - and probably many other movies - were filmed there.
One of the benefits of Valley of Fire is the remoteness from typical tourism paths, so chances are good you'll be the only one walking in between those bizarre red rocks.
