Vallarta Botanical Gardens AC Puerto Vallarta Reviews
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon Mar 01, 2013
The Vallarta Botanical Gardens are a must-see.
There are numerous hiking trails, orchids, agave, vanilla plants growing in the trees. Beside the bathrooms, there is an enormous collection of mounted insects.
When we arrived a young woman with a parrot on her shoulder came over to greet us. She gave me a large, very fragrant gardenia flower which i kept in my hat for the rest of the trip.
Plan to eat lunch there, because their restaurant is very good. The restaurant itself doubles as a museum of sorts, there are many cool things to look at there.
We bought several of our souvenirs and gifts in the shop. They have coffee, vanilla beans and extract, glass hearts, knick-knacks, etc. I like buying there because the money goes to help fund the gardens.
Keep an eye out for the iguanas! We got to see a brown one munching the leaves off a vine along one of the pathways.
