7 days in Cancun

My best friend got married in Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico in May, 2007. I spent a week there with all of my best friends, and then explored some more of Yucatan State with my friend Bonnie.

For those who feel cancun is a bit to Americanized, about 2hours North, straight into the jungle, is where you can expirence culture and history. There are hotels near these historical sites but nothing beats sleeping in hammocks outside in the rain!!

After exploring the wondrous ruins of Chichen Itza, we headed to the next city known as Valladolid to swim in some awesome underground wells/caves known as 'cenotes.' The photo shows what one of these wells looked liked.
