Valentin Imperial Maya

We were at the resort from April 5 to 12th. Overall I'd give this resort a 4/5 rating. The amenities were very good, the staff were great and the food was wonderful. It is especially geared to couples, especially because it is an adult only resort (18 years and over).

The beach was sandy but in the water it was rocky directly in front of the resort, so we walked a few metres down the beach and it was good there. Bought boogie boards in Playa del Carmen, there were none at the resort. You had to get to the beach early (6:30) and put your town and book on the lounge chairs if you wanted a covered area. The pool was also reserved early. The pool was very quiet because there were no kids, which was very nice. Swim up bars and beach bar was good...although the same drink varied in taste from day to day.

The rooms were nice. But we had a problem with the glass door to the toilet. And the water from the shower stall leaked under that glass door. Fridge was stocked every day. No problems there.

Construction was evident every day. The resort wasn't finished yet and there was a crew working on the room above us. 8-5 every day. We requested that the bottle of wine we asked for with room service be free of charge because of the construction noise.

Overall, I would recommend this resort. It was beautiful. The grounds were kept up very well. Staff were very friendly.
