Valencia Metro Reviews
Metro Valencia Nov 02, 2010
A good safe and modern metro system and all the trains and stations seemed fairly new. The trains are the long open carriage type.
Runs from the airport to the centre of Valencia, which takes just 20 minutes, with 8 trains an hour, on lines 3 and 5.Coming out of arrivals at the airport the metro station is at the far left hand side, down the escalators
There are 6 lines , though 4 and 6 seem more localised lines.
Works on a flat fare zonal system,A,B and C, with the fare for one zone being €2-40 and two zones €2-90. The airport to city centre is Zone A and B. Zone C seemed only to apply to the far ends of Line 1
Good way to get about, and as Valencia centre isn't to big you start to come across the various stations, so you are never really far away from one, it appeared, and most are covered by zone A.
My one complaint was that it shuts fairly early on some sections, having been stranded at Aragon just after 11pm after the football finished.
Metro starts running around 6am, and the last train from Xativa to the Airport is at 11-30pm and the last train from the Airport into town is at 11-59pm
