Oak Alley Plantation

I was up at 7 a.m. this morning. Bright and early and ready for the day. My wife was still sound asleep so I was kinda quiet for a little while. Then I decided to take a shower and see if that noise would wake her. When I got out of the shower and came out to get dressed she was still sawing logs just as sound as before. I kept thinking that I’d just let her sleep. Sometimes she needs the added rest to keep her pain level lower. Finally about 9:45 a.m. she awoke. Oops, missed breakfast in t...

Our Thursday begins at 6AM... all 4 women (Geri, Jen, Lara & I) must shower and change for the plantation and swamp tours beginning at 8AM til 5PM.  It's 7:30AM and we have 20 minutes to spare until the tour bus picks us up, so we decide to go to this little cafe a block away and order breakfast sandwiches to go.  It didn't occur to me that the South may not be as quick as the NYC area to prepare simple breakfast sandwiches.  So 10 minutes pass, 5 more minutes pas...

This was the most "interesting" time I've had in a long time... especially the confused look on people's faces in Mississippi trying to figure out what I was.. hahahaha other than that I LOVE LOVE LOVE NOLA!!!!....

We drove from Baton Rouge to Oak Alley Plantation. They were having some kind of festival, with live music, venues, and lots of GOOD food. I tried alligator for the first time (it tastes like chicken) and I had crawfish etouffee, which was really good. We had a tour of the plantation and the main house, which has beautiful romantic trees all around.
