V-Bar-V Ranch Petroglyph Site Travel Reviews

Sep 05, 2007
This is the largest known petroglyph site in the Verde Valley, as well as being one of the best-preserved. The rock art site consists of over 1,000 petroglyphs on 13 different rock faces. All are in a tree shaded area and there is a guide available to help explain some of the petroglyphics and answer questions. We spent about an hour at the site.
A visitor center and bookstore, operated by the Forest Service and the Arizona Natural History Association, is located within walking distance near the parking area.
Hours are currently 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday only. (Make sure you leave by 3:30 because the entrance gate closes).
