Usk Overview

Usk (Welsh language: Brynbuga) is a pretty town in Monmouthshire, southeast Wales, on the bank of the River Usk. It originated as a Roman fortress and, these days, contains a number of important buildings, including a ruined medieval castle, a 12th-century Priory Church and a museum of rural life.

The town is 8 miles north of the city of Newport and the M4 motorway. It is on the bus route between Newport and Monmouth.
