Despite the rainstorm in the early morning, we bundled up and climbed the steep road headed to the heart of Urbino for our morning cappucini and pastries. Once energized by our breakfast, we walked up the road to the Palazzo Ducale to tour the palace and view some important art pieces such as the Flaggelation of Christ and The Ideal City. After seeing Southern Marche, we returned to the region again to explore the northern part. We were not disappointed. We also visited the Republic of San Marino, an independent state inside Italy. It's a beautiful state worth driving up to.
