Upper Barracca Gardens Valletta Reviews
Outstanding views Jun 06, 2010
We visited these gardens after recommendations from a member of staff at the hotel we were staying at, and I am so glad we took his advice.
The gardens were originally the private gardens belonging to the Italian Knights whose residences were close by at the neighbouring auberge.
The entwining paths are aligned with trees and flower beds are planted up with the most beautiful floral displays together with statues and fountains. On the Grand Harbour side, the gardens are surrounded by wrought-iron fencing and immediately below is the saluting battery, where at noon each day the cannons are fired to accompanying music.
However, the main spectacle of these gardens is the magnificent views that they command over the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities, the views are simply breathtaking.
If visiting Valletta then these gardens are a must see.
