Universitetshaverne på Frederiksberg Reviews
Wonderful walks during all seasons Aug 12, 2015
The University Gardens at Frederiksberg is locally better known as the Agricultural College Garden or Landbohøjskolens Have. It was founded in 1858 while the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University was built. Today the area is called Frederiksberg Campus and it is part of the University of Copenhagen.
Back in 1858 they started from the empty field far away from Copenhagen and designed a garden that today is a major attraction for both staff and students of the faculty as for garden enthusiasts, neighbors and visitors who come from afar.
Today there are several gardens in the area and both the gardens and all the green areas around the buildings at Frederiksberg Campus are grouped under the name University Gardens.
Landbohøjskolens Garden was built as a romantic garden with many elements of landscape gardens. The garden contains many of the garden and park space that belongs to the style: a pond, a creek, one rockery, a rose garden, a forest, groves and open areas, blanket flower beds and flower beds etc. The areas are publicly available and there is no entrance.
It is a colorful experience to visit the gardens and it is a truly relaxing place to walk around.
