Universal Studios Mar 28, 2012
Visiting the Universal Studios is probably one of the best experiences I had as a child. We actually visited Disneyland first for a few days, and that was a great experience. But boy oh boy, it had nothing on Universal Studios. My highlights include the Back to the Future simulated ride, going on the tour through the studios and seeing all the different sets, meeting Beethoven the dog and some of the other animals, and best of all, the Jurassic Park ride! My brother and I went on that ride about 8 times all up. It was just so fantastic. I don't know how it fairs now, it was about 15 years ago that we visited, but if it's anything like it was, I would recommend it to any wide eyed kid!

Universal Studios is located in Universal City in Los Angeles, it is fun and also entertaining, though the one in Orlando is bigger and the games in Orlando have more effects. But hey you are in Hollywood so that is why I like this one better, there's a tour inside that shows you part of the effects and everything they show in their films, part of the locations they use, it's awesome. You can finish the park in one day, my favorite ride and the one I recommend is Jurassic Park, it is definitely a place to visit, directions from downtown: you can take the train(subway) known as Red Line from any Metro station around going to Hollywood, after several stops, you must get off in Universal City. Go upstairs and across the street there's going to be a Free Universal Studios Shuttle that will take you up to the entrance where you will also find the famous City Walk which is full of restaurants, Bars and stores full of souvenirs. It's nice to go take a look either before or after you come out of the Studios. I hope this was helpful and enjoy your visit to L.A!

Well like any other them park the prices are insane. Everything costs double if not triple. If I remember correctly you can re-enter the park once, so just out into the city walk and grab some food there. Food at the park is crap.

Its a fun place but don't plan to spend the whole day there because it won't happen unless its the weekend and the lines last for miles.

There aren't that many rides there so if they aren't any lines it'll take you like half a day to do the whole park.

Although its a place everyone should check out at one point or another but do not make it a priority. Its a fun place for kids, lots of picture opportunities but once you get older it looses its touch.

If its rides you're looking for, I'd suggest going to Six Flags instead.

Universal Studios Hollywood theme park is a theme park based around the original Universal movie studios in Universal City, Los Angeles. The entrance fee is expensive, I think we paid about 70 dollars. However, it's really worth it. Just like the Disneyland parks, Universal Studios isn't a theme park full of thrill rides. Quality is more important than quantity. And when the quality is good, I like that.

Some great rides in the park were Back to the Future the Ride (which is closed now, such a shame), Jurassic Park The Ride and Revenge of the Mummy. Jurassic Park is an exciting water ride where it's almost impossible to finish with dry clothes. Pretty refreshing when the weather is hot, which occurs a lot in Los Angeles, haha. Revenge of the Mummy is a fast steel rollercoaster ride in the dark.

The location of the park is perfect. There are two so-called lots; the upper and lower lot. You can get up and down by using the impressive escalators which give you a great view around the beautiful area.

I think Universal Studios is a fantastic theme park with nice attractions and great shows in a beautiful neighbourhood. It really takes you into the world of movies. You can go backstage and see how it's done. But, because the entrance fee and the consumptions are way too expensive, it gets 'only' 4 stars from me. I saw that they will open new parks in Manilla, Dubai, Seoul and Singapore, so when you live there let me say to you: it's worth it! Although Universal Studios Hollywood, the original one, is the best and most special.

Universal studios is imperative for any movie lover, but also a great tourist attraction you definitely shouldn't miss if you are going to hollywood, california. Make sure you bring your camera becuase there are lots of movie props you will want to take pictures with/of !

The shrek movie theatre 'experience' was funny and very enjoyable, something I couldnt stop thinking about even days after I left. Don't miss the studio tour! seeing the backlot where they filmed so many amazing movies is purely breathtaking.

If you are planning a trip to Los Angeles you must spend a day at Universal Studios. Go on all the rides, take loads of photos and be sure to go on the studio tour....its a real eye opener into what goes on behind the scenes in a movie. I recommend this 100%

Although the VIP Tour is more expensive than an average tour - you do get some added extras including going behind the scenes to some of the TV show sets and seeing features and experiencing rides, etc., which are included in the price, otherwise you would have to pay separately for them. All in all, I thought it was well worth the extra money, even though we didn't go for all the rides, etc.!!
