Learned that Oregon is pronounced OR-UH-GUN not OR-EE-GONE! Also, they are required to pump your gas!
Driving today was a challenge even though we only covered 230 miles; the High Desert was beautifully different and reached 100 degrees. Rugged beauty was the norm, desert vistas, arid planes, fertile fields, lush valleys and cattle country.
Oregon appears to offer an example of every geographic terrain on the planet.
We "holed-up" for the night in the town of Burns.
