THOUGHTS of SUNRISE
posted by:
Jun 11, 2008
Some random thoughts about Sunrise & Mornings some that are very different than Old School Bill's.    " SUNRISE IS the BEST PART OF THE DAY" If you're going to do something tonight that you'll be sorry for tomorrow morning, sleep late.  ~Henny Youngman Lose an hour in the morning, and you will be all day hunting for it.  ~Richard Whately The average, healthy, well-adjusted adult gets up at seven-thirty in the morning feeling just plain terrible....

OMG IT IS 4AM?!?! WHERE IS MY CELLY?!?!?!   Erin (poohstaggt) and I were groggy this morning. I immediately put on my shades. I only had an hour sleep. I am always stressing out that I was of course forgetting something.  I was also uploading my photos from the “ERIN AND MELANIE” 3 day madness BLOG.   My neighbor was on time as well. It was 4:30am and WE NEEDED CAFFIENE….ASAP!!! I called RJ to wake his butt up. I was actually, excited to go to KC. ...

We began the morning with brunch at Wilde Roast Cafe (most of us late, of course!).  We got the meeting room again, which was complete with a piano!  While we waited for our meals, Mark hopped up and played us a song.  It was great!  I wasn't that impressed with my meal, but the toast was fantastic!!!  It was wheat, but more like a whole grain with honey and had a light cream cheese butter and fresh strawberry preserves.  Oh so delicious!  I had to go order ...

1st day in Manhattan

You do get to see more when you walk. BUT use the subway if you have feet that are not made for walking! Oh, and get a subway map so you can plan your trip better  :-) http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htmThis time I was showing my friend from Germany around New York City. I was surprised that I've become a pretty good guide to the city after such a short time. I finally have the subway down to where I don't have to check before I leave the house on which line I have to jump and where...

Four for Secaucus

For our 2008 summer trip, we chose an 8-day cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas, and the British Virgin Islands. Susan and I selected this cruise in great part because it sailed from New York City. We'd be able to experience sailing out of New York Harbor and past the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty.   Always on the cautious side, we like to arrive in the embarkation city a day ahead of time. For New York, we planned to drive to New Jersey, spend the night, a...

The departure day has finally arrived!  And we are ... ready.  Really. Amazing, but true. Passports have been updated, extra photos stowed for future visas; Chinese visas have been secured (we'll take care of India...later); locations have been researched and travel books have been read (and reread); reservations have been made and flights have been booked for the first two months of travel; luggage has been packed and tested then repacked and retested; travel checks have been purch...

Outer Banks Background
posted by:
Jun 20, 2008 - Jun 28, 2008
So we’ve been living in North Carolina for almost a year now and sampled exceeding few of its attractions.  Time to correct this shortcoming and head for the Outer Banks!  The trip was thanks to my brother-in-law, who invited us to join an annual get-together he has there each summer with a bunch of college buddies and their families.  They’ve been doing this almost every year since the early 1990’s, so there was obviously some vibe we needed to get in touch with. ...

I have the good fortune of living directly off of I-91in Vermont, just south of the Canadian border, a mere 1.5 hours from Coventry on any normal day.  We had the luxury of staying at home and keeping an eye on weather updates.  We, and the two friends of ours who drove up from Virginia to go to the show with us, scrapped our plans to drive up early Thursday morning and waited for the weather and traffic to clear.  Or so we thought.  Based on our experience at IT the year ...

It's great to be home although I wish we could travel all the time. I love traveling with my dad. All day, everyday was full of fun and laughs. Yes even when we locked ourselves out of the car. You couldn't ask for a better road trip partner. This was my first road trip and I think it went well. We only really got lost once. Although we felt lost several times ;) My dad and I have always been close and this trip only helped with our relationship. It's amazing how much traveling long distances...

Oh what a night...TravBuddy Vegas style!  Actually, from what I hear, this was more of a TravBuddy weekend versus just a meet!! :-)     I feel bad I missed the pre-meet on Friday but I arrived much later than planned so I just met up with my local friends for sushi that night.  We spent several hours grazing at Sushi Mon for all-you-can-eat and then had a quick martini at Ollie's on Decatur and it was off to bed for me!  In fact, "rumor...

We have most of the dry food. Charles got his Typhoid Injection at HEB Redi-Clinic and earned himself a pizza. Big Bend research and fun things to do along the way have been printed. I got Global Entry approval today at IAH!  Hooray!  T...

There are so many things that made Rothbury the most spectacular festival I have ever attended, and rather than spew out gobbelygook with no direction, I will do things in a semi ordered format just so you can appreciate the absolute awesomeness that Rothbury was. In no particular order, aside from my own memory, this is my list of specific reasons why Rothbury was so damned amazing. (subject to change) 1. The drive to the festival.2. Getting into the fest. 3. The Tickets and wristbands. 4....
