Home at last! Just can’t wait to get back home again. Back in my own bed, Eating my wife’s good home cooking. Shucks even she made the comment that she was getting tired of having to eat out every meal. After being on the road for 37 days, it feels so good to get back home. Now we have to go through all the mail, unpack, wash, and get back to normal. No small task.

Okay, after seeing these videos you will no doubt believe this crew is absolutely insane! It really is hard to explain how we arrived at this, so you will just have to watch the videos...they will explain it better than I can. The first video is the queening ceremony of Mellemel8, aka Queen CW. Melanie had to be properly queened before she could carry out her duties of knighting her round table footmen. The remaining videos are the knighting ceremonies of Sir James (me), Sir Sal, Sir Will, an...

Our flight
from of Honolulu was due out at 0915 this morning so we had an early start to
be at the airport 2 hours prior to check in. We packed, paid our bill at the
hotel last night and returned the hire car yesterday as well, so all we needed
to do this morning was roll out of bed, shower, pull on some clothes and jump
in a cab for our ride out to the airport. There was already a line for check in
when we arrived at the Jetstar counter and the couple in the line in front of
us inform...

I think this week has been the longest that we all haven't seen each other - 6 days!! We got together at Zip Fusion downtown and as usual I was the last one to arrive as Joy, Tracy, Nhi and Doris were already there enjoying Soju and edamame! I was happy to have seen Doris before she left for a home cooked meal at her best friend's house!! I laughed so hard watching Joy chase Doris out the door as Doris dropped WAY too much money before leaving! We had a blast as normal, but also got down to bu...

On Saturday night we drove Linda and Ray to the Airport for their return home to Medford. We were sorry to see them go ... Honestly, I don't know how we could have had a better time. It was so relaxing and fun to see them for the week. Ray and David talked about their work and Linda and I talked about family and our goats..... and of course, we all mixed our talk too...... Linda and Ray are our idols and good friends so it ...

This morning, for the second time in my life, I woke up in a field somewhere in West Virginia. This was the last time I would be waking up in a tent. I reflected on our journey, how in just over a month's time we traveled through 25 of the 50 states, and visited over 20 National Parks or monuments. This was the second time in less than 10 years I was able to an adventure like this, and I would do it again in a heartbeat! There are so many wonderful places and things&nbs...

Combining work and global travel can be absolutely fantastic but not all destinations are sweet. My last job had been in a small African country where life was rather cruel - for most. A thousand people suffered cholera and a hundred died by it from drinking the water or eating the fruit grown near filthy waterways smothered with trash, garbage, and raw sewage. While average workers struggled to earn $2 a day, their President pocketed millions each week from off-shore oil royalties. That...

I got an e-mail yesterday (monday, June 9, 2008) from Alice that she was wondering if I could get tickets for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I think in my head...ummm, I don't know...I never tried. Alice was going to be showing Sebastian (skosch) around - he's our new adopted kid brother from Germany. I know I can get tickets, but for friends and...ummm, uh...wait a minute who's going to be on tomorrow anyway? Well I check the schedule and who do we have here? JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!!! Holy Frijo...

Every trip turns up something that is not planned, or unusual, or just plain weird. Well our summer vacation trip this year included a few things that fit into that category. This year we had seven such things.
1. Game Crossing
Being out in middle America where the open ranges are all around you we ran across this first sign every once in awhile, we only took one picture, but I’m sure you will recognize it. The problem we had was t...

Can't believe it's already morning and it's time for me to head out to the Sacramento airport...I am flying to Juneau Alaska for 4th of July weekend! I am really excited but nervous at the same time as I know I will be on my own for much of the trip since my friend is working the whole time I am here. I had purposedly booked a long layover in Seattle so I could get some work done but turns out my friend, and fellow TB'er, Shane (mr_shanet) was going to be able to meet me for lunch! ...

GOOD GOD!!!!!!! I have NOT packed yet. Melissa (melissa919) was going to pick me up at 2pm. it’s 11am and what am I doing!??!?! i am on travbuddy creating a “I LOVE TB MEETUPS” group. I hate packing for the weekend. I can’t seem to find the clothes to wear. It is worst for me to pack for a few days than 2 weeks, especially, a road trip.I like to be comfortable to the road. i wore a tank top and my favorite "airplane" pants. i love it's so comfy and airy. I should have bought more...

My intentions were to sleep very deeply and long, since I
went to bed at 5am! But, my phone rang at 9am (8am) in Lima. It was one of my customers wanting to
talk about business. Ok, I’d take care of this later. I was thinking about what
to wear and remembered the nice top Mel gave to me. Thank you!! It was the
perfect gift! I took a shower and the phone rang again. It was Malvin!!! the TB!!!
He was in Lima
but would leave shortly, too bad I wasn’t there… I called my Peruvian buddy...

WOW!!! What a great weekend in NYC. I was a bit nervous about this one, just because of so many TB peeps who were coming. I am somewhat shy in large crowds and wasn't sure if I would be comfortable in this setting, but all my fears were soon removed. I will admit, the wine and Patron helped me loosen up, but it was the people who made all the difference. These TBs who came were such a fabulous group of people, and I felt so comfortable in their company. I realize I did not get to ...
