Arriving in London!
posted by:

Funny thing the internet is. In my last flat when I didn't have it that is all I wanted. I had so much free time without internet and TV that I was able to just write all my blogs into Word when I was bored and then later copy and paste online. Now that I have internet I find that I can't be bothered to update my blogs! Haha Well I guess I haven't really written much lately about how it's all going. I have been in my new flat almost a month now? Yes. No...ah I don't know! But a couple weeks ...

Bas Vegas

Basildon - although for some reason it comes up on the map as near Reading, is in South Essex.  And the only thing that could possible qualify as a tourist attraction?  Bas Vegas. Bas Vegas is officially the Festival Leisure Park, and consists of the following amenities: 1X cinema 1X bowling alley 1X "nightclub" 1X chicago rock cafe 4X chain restaurants, including a Nandos and an all you can eat chinese buffet. The fact that the locals affectionately refer to this as Bas Vega...

Wednesday. Normal school day. At work as usual. Doing nothing as usual. Bath says AJ. What? says Fran. I want to go to bath. Ok. 15 minutes later, 3 tickets are booked for saturday. I wasn't doing anything on saturday. I'd never been to Bath either. So i thought i'd just hop along. Had to catch the 10am bus from Victoria. Having been out with the girls the night before, i was completely hungover. Didn't know how i was going to survive the 3 hour bus ride without being sick. I survived. Got ...

6pm Friday Night-Got home to my flat after work to meet Hannah so that she can drop off her bags at my house as she is staying the weekend and then we can get ready to go to Matt's leaving do at the River Bar near Tower Bridge. OMG it was so good to finally see Hannah again! I haven't seen here since the beginning of May when she left for her Contiki tour. We took a little bit longer than normal to get ready because we couldn't stop talking and we were eating crackers with hummous which is so...

6.30. I'm having my tea with my parents. Mobile goes. It's Marion - "What are you doing ringing me on a Saturday?" "What are you doing tonight? I've got free tickets to see the Arctic Monkeys at the Leadmill. Do you want to come?" Do I ever. Watch Doctor Who: "Daleks in Manhatten". Possibly the best episode ever. Mad dash home to get changed and off to get the bus. Bus takes ages to come. Marion's in the Cremorne with a glass of red wine already lined up. The Monkeys are on at nine fo...

Today we didn’t have any big plans except for our turkey dinner!! Layed around for a bit this morning and then started to cook. Got the turkey in the oven around quarter to 12. Mark peeled the potatoes which was nice of him. Pretty much just sat and watch Friends, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and House while the turkey was cooking. Then Adam and Helen came over and we were watching the Man U game. After a while I got the potatoes cooking, then I started on the veggies, the stuffing, and the corn....

Last day in London for the semester before I head home for Christmas, and then come back for another crazy four months. Today I wanted to sit and reflect on my time here thus far, but instead had to run a bunch of errands, pack, AND go to class. Oh well.

Weekand in Edinburgh:)

Firstly, let me start off by saying that Edinburgh is absolutely AMAZING!! Architecturaly speaking it is hands down the most impressive city i have been to. Okay, i know what you're thinking "Jim, you haven't been to that many places", and fair enough, point taken...BUT, i have been to both Prague and Brussels, both known as two of the most visually stunning cities of europe, if not the world, and while this is true of both these locations there are areas where they are let down(Brussels more...

Well.  Here I am.  A 'free' man. "But what's the plan?" Now there's a question.  And now I sit and think a bit because I'll soon be on my way.  Time to get things started.  "What things?"  Why, everything.  The Journey.  I'm leaving Home and it's all a little scary.I'm sat with a pint of Amstel [note : other beers are available consumers,  this is not product placement to fund my trip...nooooow wait-a-minute, there's a thought!] awaiting the arriva...

Saturday 12 July

Jul 12, 2008 - Jul 14, 2008
After a few hours of sleep (partly thanks to the Snoremaster 2000) I woke up and sat in the living room with Audrey, Krystle and Matt just reminiscing on the last night and how drunk everyone was. After I helped Matt with his battle to get the shower to operate I had a few glasses of water to bring back the fluid in my brain. The bacon sandwiches that Craigo made us helped me also to get back to my normal self. After my shower I hijacked Wayne's laptop to pass some time to wait for ever...

As much as I want to stay in London and see if I can survive (possibly not) I am still desperate to come home. The other night was really stressful, I kept waking up every 15 minutes checking up the internet to look up for flights and even jobs in London if I can''t manage to get home.  I was very confused, but finally it was my mom's madness that made me decide (or forced me against my will) to find myself a flight that will get my ass home this very week. She was really mad, ...

Newbury : my first destination abroad !
posted by:
Sep 28, 2006 - Oct 18, 2007
Since I am a child, I want to go to England and experience life there. In October 2006, I left the suburb of Paris to go to West Berkshire. I spent 8 months there, I was living in Newbury. The area of Berkshire is located in the middle south of England. From one hour to London, it is the deep countryside -- at least for a city girl who had always been living in the suburb of Paris before ! The geographical situation is really great to visit cities all around the area, such as Bristol, B...
