This has to be one of the best campsites I have ever stayed on the facilities were immaculate (compared to a lot that I've stayed in) They have a good park for the kids in the centre of the site and a good communal area with pool, TV etc

Fantasic location in the West Country, near Truro and other main tourist attractions. The Caravan Park is very clean, with excellent services - toilets, washing (both you and your dishes and clothes!!) and play area for children. The staff are all very friendly and helpfull.
On Monday and Thursday …

I found this property to be absolutely amazing! It's a little ways out of the city centre, but only a block away from 2 different tube stations, so very accessible. Plus there are some great pubs nearby, not to mention the one downstairs, which as a smoking patio, a covered, enclosed deck area and p…

I went to the St Christopher's Inns hostel in august 2007. I stayed there for 2 days because I was visiting Bath and the surroundings. After looking for hostels in Bath, I found this one that it was much better that I expected. Hostels in England aren't very comfortable and clean, and maybe the wors…

This hostel comes highly recommended. Rather than writing one big paragraph on my experience (which I've done already in my travelogue), I'll give a laundry list of plusses and minuses. I've tried to be as descriptive as possible so I do hope it's useful for those independent travellers and bac…

John O’Groats youth hostel is located a couple of miles from the coast, the most north easterly point of mainland Britain. This makes it the last or first stop for end to enders and a great place to meet other like mined people.
The hostel is clean and friendly although there are no meals prov…

I've spent a week on the Island of Mull, choosing Glenaros Lodge as my base from which to explore the island. Since I was staying with Peter (the owner of the hostel) through helpX (helpx.net), I've experienced the place both as an employee and as a guest.
Glenaros Lodge is situated in a very goo…

I stayed for 2 nights in this hostel and I am very pleased. I can't say I was surprised because I knew what I was getting into, as early as 2005 itself. I had spent a night in Ambleside in another terrible backpacker place - but during the process, I had seen this place and thought "wow, I must stay…

I stayed here for a night during my 3-day visit to Liverpool. I wanted to stay for 2 nights but the first night was fully booked (probably because there was a Liverpool last home game the next day).
The guy at the reception was really helpful (can't remember his name but he's a pretty young look…

The Great Langdale Campsite is a National Trust run campsite located in the heart of the Lake District. Reception is run by volunteers and therefore opening times can possibly be a little erratic, but during my stay they managed to keep to the opening times as stated.

I've had a good track record with YHAs wherever I've travelled so I was expecting high quality stuff from this YHA as well. The reviews were very good for this one so I felt justified in my expectations!
I spent two nights here. To begin with, getting to the hostel from the railway station is …

St. Christopher's Village was my first ever experience in a hostel and I came away with a pretty good first impression of hosteling. I stayed 2 nights in a 4-bed room. I didn't spend much time in the room while awake because that would've been foolish. Both nights I stayed here I got back around …
