Union Square Plaza Hotel San Francisco
Union Square Plaza Hotel San Francisco Reviews
May 25, 2006
The Union Square Plaza Hotel is situated just a block and a half from Union Square in an (obviously) old building that has been moderately renovated. The rooms are small but the bathrooms (new additions) are noticeably nicer. There was a bit of a musky smell in the room, but I haven't ruled out the possibility that it was me after my trans-Pacific flight and in desperate need of a shower. The staff was not too friendly, but we had everything we needed so didn't need to trouble them for anything. The hallways are narrow, so lugging around a big bag can be a burden. There is no a/c in the rooms, but with the window cracked open, it is cool enough. That said, it also caused some outside noise to creep inside. Still, it's central location, making Chinatown, downtown, and train stops within walking distance, made this a decent choice for the price.
