Uncle Edy's Ice cream Alice Springs Reviews
The best ice cream in the Outback! Dec 16, 2012
Uncle Edy's Ice cream is an ice cream parlour on Todd Mall, just around the corner from the shopping center where Woolworth's at.
We were lured in by the many patrons and the huge selection of delicious flavours on display.
The place is set up in the style of an American diner with a few sitting boots. Apart from gelato, they also have coffee, cakes and hot dogs. Though judging by the sheer amount of (local) people queuing up to get ice cream, it is bound to be good.
A single scoop ice cream sets you back 4,5$, two scoops cost 6$. And mind you, the two scoop portion is enormous. You really get value for money here. The mango orange / fig and macadamia flavours I got were really yummie! And there are plenty of other both classic and unusual flavours for the taking.
People actually drove by car by the shop to come and get their ice creams. This clearly is THE place where all the locals go and the one stop that cannot be missed when being in Alice Springs.
