Umeå is located in the northern part of Sweden known as Västerbottens region. The city is well known for its university, which makes it feel a little like a college town. It is a few blocks long and filled with shops in every direction. The town has ple… read morenty of theaters, pubs, cinemas and nightclubs to go to. Umeå is also home to IKSU, the largest gym in northern Europe. The winters in Umeå provide plenty of snow for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding and snowshoeing. The summer months become the land of the midnight sun. Everything from hiking, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and having a lazy summer day at the lake are on offer in the region. And if this isn't a tempting enough description to come, there's an elk farm nearby where you even get to pet them!
