The first morning, after fresh coffee and scrumptious still-warm cornetti, we set off to cook in a country villa/hotel in Montefalco itself. We were greeted by Alessandra, the exuberant cook, and her assistant Anna. Despite the exhortation to keep hair covered at all times, our largely Aussie conti…

Perugia is a school town and when you're in the historical district there are some great views, unfortunatly there's not a lot going on from a turism point of view.  Today I want to the historical district.  This is on top of a large hill which you have to take the bus, or the new Mini-Me…

My friends and I and most of the students at our school here in Italy went to the EuroChocolate Festival in Perugia which is a city about an hour and a half away from Castiglion Fiorentino.  I was feeling sick that morning so I did not enjoy the train ride.  But once we got to the festiva…

Italy was everything that I hoped for ... beautiful, romantic, rich in history, and had the best food and wine that I've ever tasted. Every town had its own character and beauty. I came to love bread, mozarella, olive oil, and sundried tomatoes ... and vino of course!

On my way to Rome to meet a friend, I spent 2 days in Perugia, the home of the chocolate. Despite the fact that I was alone, and it was raining and cold the whole time I was there, I fell in love with this little walled city. Every turn was alluring, and I wandered about, getting lost, and found, and lost again. Next time, I must go during the annual chocolate festival.

I volunteered in a little village called Pescosolido - located right between Rome and Naples - for two weeks(August 25th,2007-Septemer 8th,2007). We lived and worked together with the other volunteers and after work (we worked only 4 hours from 8a.m. every morning - cleaning the rooms/helping Maria in the kitchen or Giuseppe in the garden) then spent the afternoons with the guests. Had a lot of fun - can't even describe...Watch the pics and you'll see!!!:-)
