Umaid Mahal Hotel Jaipur Reviews
The little diamond of Jaipur Jul 18, 2008
It's a diamond in Jaipur!
Rooms with a lot of marble, nice furniture, all luxurous and a nice quiet rooftop restaurant. Absolutely nothing to complain about. No backpack pricing, but reasonable prices. I paid the low season price of 2000 for the Royal deLuxe room. If you like this kind of hotels, ask the owner because he has some recomandations in other Radjastan towns. more information: www.umaidmahal.com Part of the India/Ladakh - palaces, forts, gompa's and very high mountains travel blog

Palace hotel in Jaipur Apr 26, 2008
This palace hotel was a nice place to escape the loud, busy streets of Jaipur. The decor was slightly gaudy but I guess that is to be expected in a palace! Rooms were clean and spacious and the air conditioning was actually too cold! The only complaint I had was that the shower absolutely flooded the entire bathroom. It was a bit pricey at 1800 Rs ($45 USD) per night but the cost of the room included free breakfast (3 options to choose from) on the rooftop restaurant, which had very good food. Apparently there is a pool that I have only just now discovered on their website! And their websites mentions that they offer puppet shows on demand, however, I did not stay to find out! The hotel can arrange taxis, tours, and hired drivers for you also.
