Uluwatu prides itself in having one of the most beautiful temple in Bali, the Pura Luhur Uluwatu. The Pura is located at the edge of a steep cliff above where the surf breaks in the southern Bali, a rough 75 minutes drive away from Kuta. A visit is recommended during sunset where you could enjoy the Barong Dance show while also enjoying the very beautiful sunset. There are lots of monkeys roaming about that are believed to be the guardians of the temple.
Besides that, Uluwatu is famous for its waves which, because of the 70s classic film Morning of The Earth, is put onto the international surfing map. Although almost everything has changed since the 70s, the waves have remained and are as good as they were.
