Ulisse Erice Reviews
The place for pizza in Erice Jan 15, 2016
Ulisse is the Italian for Ulysses or Odysseus, the hero of Greek myth in Homer’s Odyssey. In Erice it’s the place to go for pizza! It is located not far from the main square, Piazza Umberto, then down some wide steps and around some narrow alleyways. It’s an interesting little walk to get here. The restaurant & pizzeria has outside dining in a patio area out front and inside dining in a few rooms uptake stairs from the patio. The patio area has an Italian garden atmosphere, which offers nice views from the upstairs dining are too.
Italian pizza is different depending on what region of Italy you are in and Sicilian pizza is no exception. Sicilian pizza is usually the thick crust or deep dish kind, known as Focaccia. It is usually lighter on the tomato and rich with strong types of cheeses too. Of course even within Sicily, the pizza can vary depending on the region too. Other dishes are available on the menu at Ulisse.
