Ubud Royal Palace, Puri Saren Ubud Reviews
Balinese Culture Centre in Ubud Apr 27, 2015
The Royal Palace of Ubud or Puri Saren Ubud as it is locally known is centrally located in the heart of Ubud town. Formally a residence for the nobility during those years when there was a Balinese Raja, it was well preserved by the Balinese people.
This was right at the spot of our resort’s free shuttle service drop-off and pick up point (the busiest street you will come across in Ubud).
The Royal Palace is now transformed into a sort of cultural centre where on certain nights there will be traditional performance held.
Designed in typical Balinese style with small entrance door heavily decorated with carvings of Hindu gods or mystical creatures and lovely gardens.
Other than that, tourists can come in (free) to walk around (it is not big) just for taking photographs and provides tourists a kind of hindsight on Balinese culture and architecture. It is also a good place to take a shade in the hot weather if you do not wish to spend money at the cafes nearby.
There are also guides available which will give you a tour for a tip.
