Cozy place and good deal Feb 10, 2011
I stayed there for 2 nights in September, 2010.

It was really good hostel, everyone there was working hard to keep it clean.

I really like it there because all the staff there were really earnest. And Wayan, the owner of the hostel was really a nice guy and he offered something he thought helpful to the guest, but he never offered something too strongly. And everyone there respected my privacy and kept some distance that I would feel friendly and cozy.

It was fully booked during the latter half of my visit in Ubud, but they even tried to help me to find a room of other hostels by giving calls to other hostels nearby.

I really appreciated that the hospitality they had.

The room itself was clean, but I would prefer brighter lighting in the night. (Maybe because I'm Asian.) And it was a bit cold during the night because it was half-open air hostel.

But I would definately stay there again when I visit Ubud.

Not sure you should come to Ireland, then though it's not nearly as cold here as in Hokkaido for example...

Yes, I think it was because of the rainy season, but the temperature went down in the night when I visited there in September, and they didn't have any glass on the windows. (Just some net to avoid mosquitos.)So I needed to wear my hoodies when I was going to sleep.

But it was still nice hotel!

Cute, clean and comfortable Feb 23, 2011
I love this place. So sweet and calm. The bungalow is so pretty and the surroundings are fantastic with the little gardens and such. The pool is nice as well.

I decided to stay here after I'd read others recommendations and I don't regret it. It was such a nice stay. Affordable, clean and friendly staff.

Excellent value in the heart of Ubud Jan 11, 2010
I spent four nights at Ubud Bungalow from January 8 - 12, 2009 in a US$20 per night room with fan.

The hotel is located on Monkey Forest Road, which is one of the main roads in Ubud and the location of many shops, restaurants and cafes. It is also about a 3 minute walk to the Monkey Sanctuary and about 10 minutes from the Yoga Barn.

Upon arriving, I was greeted by Wayan, the owner of the property. He was very nice, welcoming and arranged for me to join another hotel guest in a volcano trek that night.

I was in bungalow 24, which is at the far end of the property from the main road. It was quiet of all road noise but very close to a neighbouring rooster who woke me up between 6 - 6:30am each morning. If you're a light sleeper, request a bungalow closer to reception.

Breakfast is included and is served in an open air seating area near the back of the property. For the three breakfasts I had, we were served scrambled eggs and toast, a crepe filled with sliced banana and an egg sandwich. Eat meal included a plate of fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea and coffee.

There is also a swimming pool about 10 metres long and very clean, with lawn chairs including cushions and swimming towels provided.

The staff were very friendly and some of them even knew my name by the end of the first day.

The room itself was spacious and had a very comfortable queen size bed. I was on the top floor (each bungalow is two storeys) and had a vaulted ceiling with fan that kept me cool enough in the evenings. They each have an outdoor seating area (in my case a balcony because I was on the top floor), with two chairs, a table and a clothes drying rack.

My only complaint was the shower which was in a bath tub with no shower curtain so the floor got wet. I visited a girl I had met at the hotel in her room and she had more of a proper shower set up, so each room is different.

I'd highly recommend this property if you're visiting Ubud. Although you don't receive 5 star luxury, this is as close as you're going to get for $20 a night!

Cosy hotel in Ubud Oct 28, 2009
Ubud bungalow is one of those places which makes you feel instantly welcome. Stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed every single one of them. I stayed on the 2nd floor of one of the traditional balinese bungalows in a fan room and it was just amazing. Most of my days were spent traipsing thru the beautiful Ubud countryside before returning back to hang on my huge balcony sipping on a drink as i sat back and relaxed. Sometimes monkeys could be found clambering on the roofs which present great photo-taking opportunities. There is a small pool at one end which is a nice place to soak in. Breakfast of banana pancakes is usually served in their outdoor seating area. Comes highly recommended and the owner and staff are extremely nice people.
