USS Kidd Veterans Memorial Baton Rouge Reviews
A chance to get inside a marine life Apr 12, 2012
The USS Kidd in Baton Rouge is a destroyer battleship used by the US Army during WWII on the Pacific front. It is one of the Fletcher-class museum ships in the USA, the others being in Buffalo and Boston (I have been to the one in Boston too).
A visit to this place is very interesting as you can have a very good idea of what a marine's life must have been like back in the 1940's. This ship was used also during the Korean war and on several missions until 1964.
The day we visited the museum was the anniversary of a large enemy attack on the ship during WWII and we had the chance to visit several war veterans that survived the bombing. The tour inside the ship was very cool and a must for anyone interested in battleships.
