If you're in the Berkeley area, definitely check out the beautiful UC Berkeley campus. A lot of the architecture here is pretty impressive (except for the giant grey concrete block that is Evans, but apparently ugly was the big architectural style of the 80's). In the interest of arousing passions by blatantly stereotyping, one might say that the campus consists of two geographical parts - the nerdy, anti-social north side where math and engineering majors reside, and the still nerdy but perhaps slightly less anti-social south side where most of the humanities majors are.
Fun things to do on campus include: going up to the top of the Campanile (the giant clock tower in the center of campus), listening to crazy people give soapbox speeches, and playing hide-and-go-seek in the main stacks of the library during finals time. |

This was one of
my favorite places to go when I was an undergrad at UC Davis a few
miles away. We we often come over and have dinner with the students
from UC Berkeley. The place still looks the same, I think the pots are
still the same. I would call ahead because the are always running a bit

Cal Berkeley is the oldest of the UC campuses. He pointed out some of the bears all over the campus. He even showed me the smallest of the bears on one of the buildings.
