Basic sushi, good food, nothing fancy, but nice location right on U street Nov 04, 2011
U sushi is a new addition to Sala Thai on the U street corridor. It is a separate space next to the Thai restaurant, but is run by Sala Thai.

There menu is basic and their specials are decent, but not exciting and I notice that some of their rolls aren't served in 6 or 8 peices (especially the specials), and so it seems a little expensive sometimes for what I'm getting.

For the U street corridor here in DC, there is a little bit of everything and when I can find a parking spot, it is great to be able to have sushi without driving all the way downtown. It is never crowded in there and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. That allows my sushi to be made quickly (whether I'm eating in or taking out), but maybe it says something about a business when it's not that crowded. Also, because it is attached to the Thai restaurant, groups that sit down to eat can include a combination of people ordering Thai food AND sushi.

At night, parking is hard, but not impossible. The sushi chefs are very nice and the waitresses are prompt.
