Nice little restaurant Aug 22, 2011
After landing in Prague early evening we found this delightful little restaurant/pizzeria on our way down from the Powder Tower to the Old Town Square.
With a limited number of tables outside we were lucky enough to spy a couple leaving so lingered around till the table was re-set. The waiter was very attentive and our drinks order was taken within minutes of sitting down. Prices for a small coke/fanta were 49 koruna (approx £1.70)beers from 39-89 koruna (approx £1.40-£3.20)depending on size.
The menu is written in both Czech and English so no problems when ordering food. The main foods on offer are Pizza and Pasta though there were some meat dishes to choose from too.
I ordered the Prosciutto E Funghi pizza (ham, mushroom and olives) and Karin opted for the Bianca pizza (mozzarella, parma ham and rocket.) Service was swift and we waited no more than 10 minutes for the pizzas to arrive. They were HUGE. No skimping on the toppings either like in some restaurants, mine was brimming with ham and mushrooms and Karin's was no different. The pizza base was not too thick either. Both pizza's were reasonably priced at 129koruna (approx £4.70) and given the size good value for money.
All in all a pleasent dining experience, due to the size of the pizza's unfortunately, there was no room for desserts.
The one thing that we did notice was that once a glass or a plate became empty the staff were exceptionally quick to remove said item, which could be a little off putting for some folk who are used to having crockery removed when all diners have finished eating.
The bill came to approximately 460koruna (about £17.00) for 2 pizzas and 2 soft drinks. So quite reasonable.
Be mindful when dining out that some restaurants automatically add a service charge and others do not.
Would recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
