Fantastic night out, well worth a visit and great value for money Dec 31, 2010
What a brilliant night! A truly authentic environment, brilliantly designed to transport you into the medieval times. You sit at wooden tables on benches or chairs covered in fur. The welcome you are given is very warm and when you sit down you are asked what you would like to drink. Included in the price (I booked with www.PragueExperience.com and it cost around £38 each), are two large drinks (wine or beer) and as much food as you can possibly eat. You have a plate each and there is a huge hunk of bread to break. Food is delivered by serving wenches, dressed appropriately. A large plate of salad is on the table to begin with and then you are brought chicken, pork and boar. Anything you don't eat (or your bones etc) are put into a bowl on your table (they empty it). Then you are brought sweetcorn, carrots, broccoli, cauiflower. Then they bring other food amongst which there is couscous, rice, goulash and so much more! We were so full we couldn't eat it all! You have cake at the end as a dessert. For a beer (you pay for your drinks after you have had your two free ones), you would pay around £2.20 and the wine is similarly priced. Before the meal you listen to the medieval music played by the very talented band on authentic instruments - brilliant! Then there are the sword fighters - a great show is put on by the 4 guys and, let me tell you girls, they are lovely to look at! The entertainers moved around the diners so you can see them. They fight with swords and fire. There are belly dancers and they also dance with swords, fire and snakes. You are invited to have your photos taken and you can purchase them at the end if you want (one photo is around £4.68 but it's well worth it as a souvenir - it's presented as a postcard with other pictures of the tavern and the entertainers and you can all get in on one photo). The evening lasts 3 hours and it really is superb entertainment. Highly recommended.

I booked the Tavern through www.pragueexperience.com but you could also look at Tavern's actual website of http://www.krcmaupavouka.cz/. Its about $50 (depending on the exchange rate) for 3 hrs of awesome entertainment and an excellent bounty of food. Most people spoke english and the service was very good.
