fine czech dining May 26, 2009
I found U Maliru on square meal when searching for a nice place to have a meal on our final night in Prague.

The building is tucked away amongst some cobble stone streets and looked amazing with all of the windows open, fresh flowers and candles on each table. The ceilings are painted and some midevil armor/weapons decorate the walls. There is a seperate room which is more of a wine cellar that looks great too, not sure if could dine in it though.

The menu was loaded with traditional meat and game options and I think I had tried them all. It was quiet on the Sunday night so we got plenty of attention and recommendations on food and wine, inclduing a free starting course from the chef of duck liver patte.

The wines ranged from £20 per bottle right up into the hundreds so you certainly have your choices and meals will be £50pp or so inclduing the starter.

We finished with a Crepe Suzette which was cooked right at our table and was brilliant! The price is high, but if you want a nice night outside of the typical tourist haunts then check it out. The waiter said Friday and Saturdays book up full so plan ahead!
