Haggis, neeps & tatties Jan 11, 2013
This is a typical Scottish dish to try, if you are staying in Scotland. You can have this one in good pubs and restaurants. The price could differ, but should be between £5 - 10.

Haggis is a mixture of meat, oats looking a bit like a big sausage. It reminds me a kind of sausage, which is produced by a pig-sticking in my home country. It is really yummy. For those, who don't want to know the ingredients of this, or are against killing of animals, there's an option of vegetarian haggis available - I prefer the meaty one though.

Neeps are turnips in the Scottish English prepared in sugary water to get rid of the bitterness of the veg. Easy to make, just cutting and slicing is a bit challenging. A good knife and handleable hands recommended... :-)))

Tatties are Scottish 'version' of potatoes - mash in this case.

Enjoy the Scottish delicacy! Yummy...
Scottish smile: Haggis (the mouth)…

Even the vegetarian haggis is nice, but I am more 'a carnivore'. ;-)

I tried it with Ian (Dr_Suess) at Rab Ha's while in Glasgow in September 2012 - I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Had the meaty version too, but didn't know there was a vegetarian option.
