The Shoshone Indian Ice Caves were out next stop of the day.  We were ready for some coolness.  The temperature outside in mid afternoon was just about 103 degrees.  The tour took about 45 minutes and took us out over the top of the lava to where the entry steps went down into the cave’s entrance.  A narrow door allowed entry inside and we continued down the inside steps.  Once down to the wooden trail, which was suspended by cables just above where the ice level wa...

Tues  5/16/06. Twin Falls, ID before heading off to UT.     Today was a bonus day for us.  We did a bit of touring and Dave and I both were impressed with how clean TF is.  If it weren’t for the fact that we don’t like cold weather (snow) in the winter we would be interested in living around here.  Lots of new construction, looks as though there is a strong economy in the area.  We visited the Perrine Bridge over the Snake River and a fellow did ...

My first 'big trip': 2 months through 10 states in the US of A. It was a great adventure, largely because of the fact that we didn't know what we were doing. This was before I had discovered the functionality of a Lonely Planet guidebook, so our trip was mainly planned using fly/drive itineraries. We managed though, and saw a lot of great stuff. For now it is just a map and a couple of recollections - I need to scan some photos
