Turtle Conservation Project Aug 01, 2013
I come across this place when I plan to go to Serangan island to see the green turtle. So I pop in to see this place which is free to enter (donation is most welcome), and the guide explain what they do with this project.

There are several small pools hold different type and species of turtles according to the size and aggressiveness. Some of the turtles were rescue from the sea and some lost the flipper. Unfortunately there is one aggressive species of turtle which was put together at one pool eat the other turtle leg.

This place also help with breeding and releasing the turtles back to nature, as there is small breeding place at the garden provide. It seems this place is in need of more help from people physically and financially.

There are volunteering opportunities in Bali for people who want to help with projects like this. For example, there's this one, with the company who I volunteered in Uganda with: http://www.volunteerhq.org/volunteer-in-bali I'm sure there must be more!
