Turkish and Islamic Art Museum Istanbul Reviews
Arts and craft in an ancient palace Oct 22, 2011
The Turkish and Islamic Art Museum (Türk Islam Eserleri Müzesi) is located on the Sultanahmet square, overlooking the side entrance to the blue mosque. The museum is housed in a restored palace of Ibrahim Pasha.
It has an excellent collection of religious art. It's really interesting to walk along the corridor and into various rooms in the house, observing the exhibit. There was also an exhibit of various homes of the locals.
There's an internal courtyard, with a coffee corner where you can enjoy the scenery view of the blue mosque and the square from the balcony.
The museum is open from 9am - 5pm, and the entrance fee is TL10.
