Tumacacori National Historical Park Rio Rico Reviews
Tumacácori National Historical Park Feb 16, 2013
While visiting family in Tubac, we went and checked out this park. It actually consists of 3 missions (Tumacácori, Guevavi, and Calabazas) but the other two are more fragile and you have to reserve them in advance. We just ended up checking out the Tumacácori Mission.
Tumacácori Mission was never finished and has been safe guarded as a ruin (and thus will never be finished).
So, what is there to do? We ended up checking out the Visitor's Center and walking around the monument. The ranger also lends out an explanation book to explain marked numbers when you see them.
They have a Find and Seek Junior Ranger activity for the kids which consisted of 20 or so pictures of things to locate with explanations and questions once you find it. My daughter really enjoyed it.
