This town is basically the center of the Agricultural Industry in the world. The World Ag Expo is held here each February and draws larger and larger crowds and representatives from all over the world. During that time of year all hotels within 50 miles are overbooked.

Besides being a very argricultural area with thousands of acres of farm land, there is also a large dairy industry here. The nearby Coalinga and Kettleman Hills are home to some of the largest Pleiocene-Pleistocene fossil beds in the country, as well as several still active oil fields.

The Tulare County Fair Grounds are located in Tulare and every year at the end of summer the fair is held here.

Every few years we try to make a trip up to Ponderosa, a wonderful little grocery, restaurant, bar, and gas station at the 7,200 foot level just to see the beauty of the area. It's not on the map, just a stopping point in the Sequoia National Forest. Last time it was earlier and snow was still there. Not this time. Spring is really here this time.
