Tuk Tuk Vacation Guide
Tuk Tuk is the most popular town for tourism on the island of Samosir. Jutting out from the island on a kidney-shaped peninsula into North Sumatra's Lake Toba, Tuk Tuk offers a range of resorts and restaurants for visitors from the moment they step off the passenger ferry from Parapat, oftentimes dropped off at their resort's docks.
The town is circular in nature and can be easily explored without a map on foot, bicycle, or motorcycle. Visitors will see examples of traditional Batak architecture, colorful plantlife, and wildlife (ranging from water buffalo to cobras). The hilly terrain, however, does not make it an easy uphill ride on the bike. There are souveneir shops all around the town and many of the resorts organize tours in the area and around the island.

Occasionally on this trip, I meet people that make me consider my own ethics and whether or not I'm a "good person." I don't mean good by any kind of religious point scoring system, I'm an atheist. However, I was brought up to respect people and, on top of that, I generally know with…

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.
