The best hostel in Floripa Feb 29, 2012
I use to stay at this hostel every time I go to Florianópolis (once a year at least).

Clean, safe, friendly staff, amazing and cheap dinner, nice bar area where you can always try the açaí. They have excursions to parties every night (sometimes 2 options per night) and discounts to most of them. If you don't want to join, they always recommend some nice bar with live music around.

Lots of day ativities, as boat trips to fishermen villages, hiking to Lagoinha do Leste (a hidden beach), P12 pool party, sand board...

Since february/2010, at least(when I spent the Carnival there)they have air conditioning in the dorms.

This is one of the best hostel i stayed at while in Brazil. Its big and very clean. The chef is amazing and you can get dinner there for 12 reals everynight. Best food ever. Bathrooms are clean etc. Short 2 min walk from main street. Id go here again just for the hostel!

Relaxing atmosphere Mar 16, 2011
I had a great time at Tucano House. Rooms are very clean. You can relax and get to know other backbackers in the comfortable living room or the nice garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They arrange barbecues and caipirinha nights very often. The location is also quite nice.

Tucano House Apr 23, 2010
Thank goodness I transfered here from Backpackers Sunset.

Value: They had a seasonal chef that cooked us scrupmtious dinner buffets for R$15,

different cuisine every evening.

Location: right in town by Lagoa de Concecaio, walking distance to nightlife, restaurants, bus stops

Cleanliness: beds were made, rooms cleaned daily, communal washrooms satisfactory

Safety: gated house, in a residential neighborhood. Lockers provided under te bed... bedrooms are left unlocked though

Staff were always in a jolly mood and accomodating

Free wifi

Paid R$50 per night during the summer high season (compared to hostel in Rio was only R$40)

Bed: a little on the thinner side, pillows were flat

Loudness: rooms are not air conditioned so we had to open the windows and you will hear outside noise.

For nightime activities/ excursions, you have to ask around... they seem to plan it last minute.

I recommend renting a car. It's easy to get to the popular tourist spots but taking the bus was a hassle since it was not frequent and taxis were hard to come by.

gorgeous hostel in perfect location Nov 17, 2010
So much fun! Perfect place to stay, such friendly staff. Very impressed by the buffet breakfast, and the option to have a cheap buffet dinner daily. You have to make it to the P12 party on Sunday! There's activities on every day if you want to go.

Close to public transport, which took us lesds than ten minutes to the most beautiful beaches imaginable. Definitely reccomend this hostel!!

Internet access offered, hot water, pool, bar/restarant, activities, TV room. pool tables and decent rooms.
