Tryvannstua Oslo Reviews
A nice cabin in the forest Sep 30, 2010
Tryvannstua is located by a small lake at the bottom of the ski slope Tryvannskleiva, about 3 km from the TV tower at Tryvann. The cabin was built in 1931 of timber from trees that had falllen during the big storm in 1930. It was expanded in 1965. A new building with fireplace was added. The construction work was completed for the World Ski Championships in 1966.
Today, the cabin is open year round and offers pastries, waffles, open sandwiches and baguettes as well as hot and cold drings. Prices are average for this country, drinks are $4, pastries and sandwiches are $4-$8,50. Not too bad when you think about the fact that everything has to be transported in to the cabin. The food is inviting, but since this is quite early on the walk I find it too early to eat. It´s a nice place to enjoy a hot chocolate though. On a nice day it´s lovely to sit outside watching the lake and enjoy the tranquility of the woods.
Tryvannstua is open year round and opening hours are:
Tuesday – Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm
