True Brew Cafe: Best Soup in the neighbourhood Aug 16, 2012
When most people are thinking of the last leg of their profession others takes on a new challenge. Sylvia is a lovely Romanian lady. She has always enjoyed cooking and baking all her life. Sylvia and her engineer husband emigrated from Romania leaving a good life in the pursuit of new opportunities in a far of land. The two girls are now grown ladies who are also serving fighting combat soldiers in the classic trade role known as infantrymen. There's a photo hanging at the cafe of one of her girls serving in Afghanistan. Sylvia gets up at the crack of dawn and is in shop baking fresh goods every morning. My favourites are many in the baked good area. Her fresh pot of soup is always sold ou if you come too late in the day. Try it with some fresh chopped green onions and parsley. I believe this soup that I've declared the best soup in the neighbourhood goes about $2.50 for small but hearty serving. The sandwiches are delicious and healthy goes nicely with the soup. I also love her quiche for breakfast when I'm recovering from those long days of movie set work.
Now let me tell you about the staff. There's Shawna who's an actor so she's a very interesting person. There's Sara who just makes the room brighter like her fellow True Brew Cafe staffers with her warm smile, pleasant and warm demeanour. True Brew Cafe is cozy and the regulars
are mostly pleasant, polite and affable locals.
