Troutdale Overview

Troutdale is a city near Portland Oregon in Multnomah County. Troutdale is along the Sandy and Columbia Rivers and has a population of almost 16,000.

Troutdale was named after Captain John Harlow's farm. He settled in the area in 1872 and named his farm "Troutdale" after stocking pods in the dale with trout.

Troutdale is home to McMenamins Edgefield a hotel, restaurant, brewpub, and golf course which is also on the National Register of Historic Places.

Troutdale has many popular parks along the Sandy river including Lewis and Clark Park which is home to Broughton Bluff which has sport and trad rock climbing routes.
