saving the planet from a fantastic beach Nov 29, 2014
I was lucky enough to find TRACC purely by chance while I was actually in Sabah. They were really friendly and arranged for us to stay for 10 days. My girlfriend learnt to dive and we both planted coral and did night dives. We searched for cuttlefish and found quite a few, we did some great dives at the lighthouse and we made some amazing igloo reefs.

The tents were comfy, the food excellent, the company great and the diving superb. I strongly recommend tracc if you want to work towards saving part of the ocean.

Best part of the holiday Mar 19, 2012
We stayed at the Celebes Beach resort and volunteered to help TRACC with their conservation work for 4 days. Not your average diving, we planted corals and created underwater masterpiece reefs. We counted turtles underwater on 4 different reefs and we made videos of the permanent transects to look at coral recolonisation with and without human help. Even to us amateurs it was clear that the reefs that were being replanted by TRACC were in much better condition than the original damaged reef.

We dove on superb reefs with over 90% coral cover and we looked at blast craters that destroy the coral in seconds. TRACC does marine science courses so we will be back to learn more and help protect the reefs.

Watch turtles and learn a lot Mar 10, 2012
This is better than the turtle island park for turtles. you can snorkel or dive and see many as well as watch them lay eggs. Diving excellent, great coral reefs just off the beach and on nearby islands. I came and planted corals to help restore the reef from blast fishing. It is really good to be doing something about conservation rather just talking about it. Would like to come back for the marine science courses, I have always wanted to watch corals spawn.

Fantastic place to learn about marine life Mar 10, 2012
Had a fantastic time. Now I want to go back to watch coral spawning and do a course about marine conservation. Found this place by chance from a coffee shop conversation. I could only stay a few days but it was cheap, fantastic diving with turtles and macro marine life. They have this ongoing volunteer programme to help the reef recover from blast fishing. I planted corals and helped to repair the reef.

Oh, BTW the beach is fantastic, the sea is azure blue and the diving incredible.

Hope to see you there.
