The city has a relatively hot and humid climate year round with monsoons first announcing their arrival into India around June.
Trivandrum also has several ayurvedic and yogic centers and is famous for its ayurvedic massages. The main areas in Trivandrum city are Statue Junction and Palayam.
Kerala is a conservative state and so nightlife is almost non existant in the city of Trivandrum. But Cochin, which is a 5 hour drive from Trivandrum provides some avenues for entertainment and late night partying.
The best way to get around Trivandrum is by auto (tuk-tuk). The autos run on meters which are based on the distance traveled and are fairly reasonably priced.
