The Triumphal Comeback Oct 26, 2013
Triumphal Arch was created in 1891 in honor of 23 year old Crown Prince Nicholas visit in Vladivostok. It was built on the people’s money. So the Arch united the best entrepreneurs, merchants, industrialists and other citizens. However, 30 years later it was destroyed during the Soviet era. But after almost a hundred years Vladivostok residents decided to revive the history. Restoration of the monument took place in the year of the 135th anniversary of the birth and the 85th anniversary of the tragic death of the last Russian tsar and his family. Arch was restored almost in its original appearance. In May 2003 its grand opening took place.

Residents of the city know that Nicholas Triumphal Arch is the eastern gate of Russian state. The Arch is situated in the unique place. Not far away is the Golden Horn Bay, where the founders first landed to Vladivostok. Two-thirds of the arch are original works of sculptors, painters and ceramists.
