Best Patio in Austin Apr 29, 2008
Triumph Cafe is a nice Vietnamese restaurant and coffee shop in Northwest Hills, Austin. They have the best patio in town. It is behind the main restaurant and is surrounded by trees and a large cliff that makes it very shady and secluded.

One of my favorite dishes here is Bo Luc Lac, which is chunks of beef steak marinated and then grilled, served over a lettuce and sliced tomato salad. It has a great garlic flavor to it and is really good when paired with a nice red cabernet sauvignon wine.

I also love the vermicelli bowls here -- you can have lemongrass chicken, garlic chicken, barbequed pork, eggroll, or shrimp vermicelli. It is loaded with fresh veggies, basil, cilantro and bean sprouts and is really delicious. They also have wonderful noodle bowls and great spring rolls.

The Vietnamese coffee here is quite unusual. It is said that the coffee they use comes from coffee beans that were first eaten by a mongoose, ran through its digestive system, and then collected, cleaned and roasted. It's the mongoose process that gives it the unique flavor! That's the basis of their logo! I don't know whether its really true, but it is great coffee.
