Trinidad and Tobago Vacation Guide
Trinidad and Tobago is a republic just off the coast of Venezuela. Trinidad is the main island, a bustling industrialised place that still manages to fit in tropical rain forest. Tobago on the other hand has a much slower pace of life.
Trinidad (Spanish: "Trinity") is the larger and more populous of the two major islands and numerous landforms which make up the country of Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad is the southernmost island in the Caribbean and lies just 11 km (7 miles) off the northeastern coast of Venezuela.
Trinidad is the home of the steel drum and calypso and soca music and the partying reaches its climax during the annual Carnival, just before the start of Lent (Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday)
If all the action gets too much, Tobago's beautiful beaches are only a short hop away. If in Trinidad, you can get to Tobago by ferry or by plane. Mount Irvine & Stone Haven beach are great to hang out, drink a rum punch, eat a "bake an shark" and enjoy the great Tobago "vibe".
